A spectacular value for the price. I purchased this watch from an online merchant as this model appears to have been made specifically for the European market, and I am in the USA. The quality of this watch is excellent, and my only complaint is that the bracelet uses folded steel links rather than solid ones.
The markers line up perfectly, the dial function is solid and positive in operation with 60 uni-directional clicks counter clockwise. Adjustments using the crown feel precise, and the movement is smooth. The luminescent markers on the face of this watch are incredibly bright, and there is a nice contrast between the blue markers on the face of the watch and the bright green marker at the 12 o’clock position of the dial.
Small details such as the Promaster logo on the crown, as well as a subtle contrast between the brushed metal on the sides of the dial and the highly polished case add some sophistication to this watch. The black and red color combo on the dial, commonly known as the “Coke” pattern, really make this watch stand out and scream for attention. Being ISO certified to 200m depths makes this a legitimate dive watch while also remaining a solid choice for everyday wear at a modest price.
Would a sapphire crystal with magnification over the day/date, and an improved bracelet make this a more desirable watch? Certainly. It would also undoubtedly raise the price of this timepiece to a level more indicative of its performance which I believe would be a mistake. As it is currently, I believe this to be a remarkable value for a very good quality legitimate dive watch. It is one that compares well to far more costly watches in terms of function, yet can be worn daily without guilt. I’d go so far as to say that this is certainly among the finest entry level dive watches one can buy today.
